Out of Shaking Air

I am fascinated by history and research is so important when writing about historical events. (So important that I went to Los Angeles to take my Private Pilot’s Licence. I wanted to experience what it was like to fly a plane.)

While researching for my first book, I spent many hours in the Imperial War Museum in London reading documents, diaries and books from WW II so that I could make my readers walk around in that time with me.

I have now written the sequel to OUT OF SHAKING AIR called STARDUST. I became so fascinated by the lives of my characters in the first book that I wanted to follow their fortunes during this roller-coaster time in history.

One of the delights of writing is to find yourself surprised by your characters. My disarming, but vulnerable 10 year Charlie Slater certainly kept surprising me by everything he did and said.

If you click on the link you will find a short synopsis and two chapters from the novel.
